The Eastern Section of
the American Society for Enology and Viticulture
was established in 1975.
About Eastern Section
Purpose
To provide forums for the presentation, discussion and publication (through the official journal of the ASEV) of such research and technology developments for the advancement of wines, and the solution of problems of specific interest to the enology and viticulture of grapes grown in the Eastern United States and Canada.
Section Boundaries
The geographical area encompassed by the Section includes all U.S. states and Canadian provinces with territory east of the Continental Divide.
Membership
The membership of the Section may include all members and individual affiliates of the Society residing in or engaged in enological or viticultural work in the area covered by the Section. Membership categories are:
Professional - must belong to both the National and Eastern Section, has voting rights.
Associate - belongs to only the Eastern Section; may not hold elected office in the Section, no ASEV Society benefits.
Student - Must be enrolled in a recognized University or College with academic studies in Enology or Viticulture.
Industrial Affiliates - Suppliers to the wine and grape industry that chose to support the Section with an Industrial Affiliate membership. Monies received from this is used solely for Scholarship and Library fund support.
